  • Color: Sparkling clear = 6.5

  • Taste: Sparkling lite ginger and not overly sweet   = 6.5

  • Experience: refreshing bubbly ginger taste  = 6

  • Notable Ingredients: Ginger lemon and lime oils

Boylan's Ginger Ale is a bubbly refreshing ginger ale. This ginger ale comes in Boylan's signature retro bottle in fitting green. This soda has the perfect hit of ginger and is not overly sweetened. It provides that smooth ginger taste throughout the sip and does not give off a nasty bite at the end. There is a lot of competitors in the ginger ale category, but Boylan's is an above average pick. Give it a try after mowing the lawn!

Boylan Root Beer (#4)

  • Label and Bottle Appearance: Simple clean design & smooth amber bottle = 8

  • Color: Deep amber = 7.6

  • Taste: Fully inviting root beer taste with a bit of after taste  = 6

  • Experience: An average root beer to go along with that hamburger  = 6

Boylan's Root Beer has a lot to compete with in the root beer business. It has a strong root beer grab at first sip, but then kinda drops off with a bit of a strange after taste. In addition it has the usual Boylan's sweetness with a bit of a cinnamon hint.  Overall I give this an average rating and call it a good staple in their selections. Not the best soda from Boylans, but a decent pick on cool night at the local hamburger joint.

  • Experience: Great refreshing drink for the summer = 6

We started the first VSC soda reviews with a cool summer favorite, Boylan's Orange Soda with pure sugar cane. Boylan's Orange comes in its usual clean smooth bottle and simple round label. This soda is sweetened with real cane sugar and for sure you can taste it in every sip. The orange flavoring comes from the mandarin and tangerine oils and natural orange flavoring. Overall, this soda has more a sweet tangerine taste that goes down smooth. Great for a summertime drink!

  • Experience: This is one of the better Black cherry sodas that I have tasted  = 8

Boylan's Black Cherry with pure sugar cane has a deep cherry taste that feels like your drinking fresh cherry juice. A unique blend of cherries, wild cherry bark, and extracts of bourbon vanilla. Flavorful, sweet, tart. This soda is sweetened with real cane sugar  and has a bold but sweet smooth taste. One of the best sodas that I have tasted from Boylan. Keep up the good work! This soda makes a great afternoon treat.

  • Label and Bottle Appearance: Squat bottle and Stewarts classic label = 7.0

  • Color: super green = 7.0

  • Taste: Very artificial to come up with this taste  = 5.0

  • Experience: You got to be a Key Limer to enjoy this one  = 5.0

A few weeks ago, we took a family vacation down to Key West. So what better place to purchase the Stewart's Fountain Classes Key Lime soda then in a key lime pie shop in Key West. It was a hot July day in Florida, so the Key Lime soda went down with no problem. My memories from that taste gave me the picture of some scientific mixture with a twist of lime to top it off. You either like or dislike the key lime taste, so for sure this drink is not for the dislikers. This soda as an ingredient that you have to look up "bromated vegetable oil?? Final take, you got to be a lover of key lime to like this one.
